"Each Painting Is A Moment In Time, Caught In  My Mind's Eye And Transferred To Canvas."

Marilyn Alice Boyle was born and raised in Northwestern Ontario, the center of Canada near the American border, where she grew up loving the rugged countryside, its' wildlife and all of the splendors that it had to offer.  She and her husband settled in Thunder Bay and raised two children.  When they entered high school, she was then able to turn her attention to painting.  Self-taught, with some evening courses, Marilyn possess a natural talent and a vivid imagination, which her work clearly shows.  Her love for fantasy and wildlife pointed her in the direction in which her art finally took her.

Lacking a formal studio, she paints in the dining room of her home; the one room in the house that has the best natural lighting.  Marilyn is also a member of various art clubs, guilds and organizations.  She has  taught acrylic painting, watercolour and crafts.  Her work has been sold to been sold to homes all across Canada, the United States and overseas.  Some of her paintings have even been put into needlework and are available across the world; and now she has added handmade, one of a kind cards to this list.

Creatures both fantastical and real are featured prominently in her paintings and often together.  Few can blend the two as believably as this artist.  She also paints on many untraditional canvases, such as birch bark, stones, paddles, wood and feathers.

Marilyn and her husband travel often and take their trailer to many of the beautiful parks in the surrounding area.  Many of her inspirations arise from the magnificent scenery that abounds in the Northwestern regions of Ontario.

The artist uses every spare moment of her free time to paint.  Only this way does she feel she can grow and improve.  So far her horizons are limitless.
